Slovakia is set to conduct a referendum in July 2026 that will focus on the contentious issue of lifelong payments awarded to former political leaders.
These payments, which are equivalent to the salaries of current lawmakers, are currently granted to former prime ministers and parliament speakers who have served at least two terms.
