Concerns Rise as European Cars Continue to Increase in Size

Editorial Staff · 1 min read

Since 2000, cars in Europe have grown an average of 1.2 centimeters longer each year, along with increases in height and width by 0.5 centimeters annually.

This trend, often referred to as 'car bloat,' raises significant safety concerns, as researchers warn that it could lead to an additional 2,600 crash deaths each year by 2040.

As vehicles become larger, the implications for road safety and crash fatalities must be carefully considered by policymakers and manufacturers alike.
